The Fourth Annual West Coast Urban Sketchers Sketch Crawl, will be held in Tacoma, Washington (USA) Aug. 19-21, 2016. Tacoma offers an historically and architecturally rich downtown area. San Francisco, Portland and San Diego were hosts of this annual event in previous years. See the blog for details. regarding past events, the agenda (schedule of events for Tacoma), lodging information, how to RSVP if you plan to attend, and our Facebook link. This is a free event.

Fairgrounds Tour, Mid-South Coliseum, 996 Early Maxwell Blvd

1:00 PM to 3:30 PM

This month we are joining the walking and talking tour of the Fairgrounds. 

1:00 PM We will meet at the west entrance to the Coliseum an hour before the tour starts. 

2:00 PM Meet back up at the west entrance for the tour.

3:00 PM Tour ends back at the Coliseum. Stick around to share your sketches!

Sketching at the India Fest

Seven sketchers met at the Agricenter yesterday to sketch at the India Fest.

A few of my sketches from our sketch group at the Peabody in August. I had just returned from the Urban Sketchers Symposium in Singapore, where I'd taken a very inspiring workshop about sketching people.

I love going to the Peabody and watching the spectacle of people watching the march of the Peabody ducks.

North Carolina Arboretum

 I spent a day exploring the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC, this summer.

While I checked out the Arboretum, I tried out some colored Stabilo fineliners.

There was a large collection of bonsai, 

displayed on several levels,

and a large outdoor fireplace.

Traveling to Asheville

We traveled to Asheville to cool off this summer. Margaret starts the trip with coffee from Muddy's.
